A New Concept in Design with a Focus on Patient Safety

For almost 10 years, E-Z-EM has been offering EDA technology on our Empower injectors. Our EDA patch is the only clinically proven device that helps detect extravasations of contrast media. At 10 mL/sec it takes just 2 seconds for an extravasation to become clinically significant. And when ionic compounds are injected, the outcome can be even worse. Why accept the risk? E-Z-EM offers the proven solution featuring both high sensitivity and high specificity.

  1. PATENTED Extravasation Detection Accessory (EDA™).
    EDA can help detect extravasations, especially at high flow rates, and pauses the procedure before any serious harm can occur.

  2. Pendant Switch.
    Puts convenient "on/off" procedure control in the operator's hand.

  3. Manual Injector Advance.
    Rotating the knob at the rear of the injector head provides an easy means of manually advancing the syringe position to eliminate air from the line or for checking patient patency. The knob also rotates to offer a highly visible indication that injection is in progress.

  4. EXCLUSIVE Tilt Sensor/Lockout.
    The injector head may be tilted in either direction prior to injection (270° rotation) and is designed to prevent operation unless the injector is properly positioned to prevent air embolism.

  5. Pressure Limiting Autostop.
    Operator has the ability to preset a specific pressure that the injector is not to exceed - the flow rate is automatically reduced to compensate, pausing the injection, if necessary, while providing a real-time display of psi pressure.

  6. Syringe Fill Options.
    Operator can choose auto or manual syringe filling. Syringes fit easily into place, with no flanges to align.

  7. Syringe Warmer.
    A snap-on syringe warmer automatically maintains contrast at the proper temperature.

  8. Injector Controller.
    Syringe filling, removal and monitoring; system arming; flow rate manipulation, and more can all be controlled at the injector head.
